Clinical Supervision & Reflective Practice
Reflective Practice

Reflect. Learn. Strengthen.

Reflective practice creates space to learn from everyday work.

Together, we reflect on experiences, decisions and challenges in your work. We explore the assumptions behind our responses and consider other perspectives, using what we learn to strengthen practice and improve frontline delivery.

We also consider how the work affects us, how we respond, and where support or change may be needed.

What might a team explore?

  • Reflecting on practice to develop new learning and approaches.
  • Supporting teams to work well together when facing distress and adversity in frontline practice.
  • Reflecting on recurring dilemmas, tensions or patterns in the work.
  • Different perspectives on a child, family or situation.
  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and the pressures staff face.
  • How our experiences and assumptions shape our responses, and whose perspectives we may be missing.

How is this different from supervision?

Clinical supervision

Clinical supervision focuses on a practitioner’s clinical work, development and professional responsibilities.

Team reflective practice

Team reflective practice brings colleagues together to learn from shared experiences, explore different perspectives and strengthen practice.

There is overlap, and we agree the focus around what your team needs.

Reflective practice sits alongside the organisation’s existing management, safeguarding and clinical governance arrangements.
